Thank you for your inquiry. Availability for potential clients is not a simple yes or no answer, as there are many factors involved such as making sure I can accommodate your specific mental health needs, assessing for a right fit, and understanding potential costs to you.
In addition to the traditional methods used in talk therapy, I am also a Certified Brainspotting Practitioner.
I enjoy learning about the brain and am considered “informed” in trauma, I-CBT for OCD, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). However, I do not hold certifications in these treatment modalities. For the sake of information, I may make references to them frequently in session.
I work best with adult females experiencing grief, anxiety, mild depression, change of life transitions, caregiver burnout, educator stress, and health care workers.
Please contact me at 609 703-0901 during business hours if you would like more information or to discuss an appointment.
I accept insurance with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of NJ and AmeriHealth.
Verification of Benefits Disclaimer
Verification of benefits is the client’s responsibility. If you have a deductible and have not met it, your session fees may change depending on your eligibility and benefits during the date of your sessions.
You will need to call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask your member representative about your “mental health outpatient office visit.” (Please see below.)
The insurance company will not guarantee that any information is correct and neither can I. Only once a claim is processed do we know what your financial responsibility will be and, even then, it can be incorrect.
Oftentimes, individuals seek therapy with the best of intentions only to find out that they have a very high deductible and then cannot follow through with keeping the appointments. While I may be a provider on your list, please contact your insurance representative to verify the cost of copays and deductibles before we go through the process of scheduling an appointment and completing Intake paperwork.
I am currently seeing clients virtually. However, an Initial Intake session can be arranged in the Somers Point office if you prefer.
Based on hundreds of vague emails and calls, I have found potential clients appreciate having the following information directly and in a straight forward manner:
- Medicaid (including NJ FamilyCare) does not recognize the LPC credentials. I cannot see clients who have Medicaid.
- I do not accept assignment as a “Single Case Agreement” from other insurance companies.
- I currently use HIPAA compliant Zoom for all virtual appointments.
- Minors, couples and families will be referred out.
- I am not qualified to provide court mandated counseling, and I do not have the required certification to write letters for people seeking an Emotional Assistance Animal.
- Malpractice insurance prohibits me from working with potential clients who have open litigation cases such as child custody, Workman’s Comp, accidents, etc.
- To help with investment in the therapeutic process as well as protect client confidentiality, clients must call for their own appointments. I cannot speak with anyone who is calling “on behalf of” someone else.
- Just as you would with any health care provider, verification of identity is required for insurance. A
copy of your driver’s license and health insurance card will be kept on file. - A credit card must be kept on file through the HIPAA compliant terminal called IvyPay. I do not have access to your credit card, and I do not keep the number stored anywhere.
- Billing for copays or session fees is not an option and non-negotiable.
- Intake appointments are tentative and based on the return of the paperwork. If paperwork isn’t returned, the appointment will be canceled.
